Ana Pires - Dimera

Ana Pires

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

•  PhD in Environmental Engineering from NOVA SST (2011).

•  Has successfully secured EU funding and supported coordination and execution of projects involving multidisciplinary teams across knowledge areas, training levels, genders, and ages.

•  Author of more than 25 articles in international journals, 6 book chapters, and 2 books.

•  Awarded 9 distinctions, including the Pordata Award (2016), the International ISWA Publication Award (2019), 2nd Place in the PhD & Doctorates category at the H2O Sustainability Summit (2023), and the Mares Circulares Innovative Initiatives Award (2024).

•  Extensive experience in sustainability metrics, LCA, carbon footprint, circular economy, and waste management. 

Cátia Guarda - Dimera

Cátia Guarda

CHEMISTRY

•  PhD in Chemistry from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) (2023), in an interdisciplinary research field combining Chemistry, Nanotechnology, and Mechanics.

•  Degree in Biochemistry and MSc in Chemistry from the University of Évora.

•  Author of more than 10 peer-reviewed research articles.

•  Awarded 2nd Place in the PhD & Doctorates category at the H2O Sustainability Summit (2023), finalist of the Novo Verde Packaging Enterprise Award (2023), and winner of the Mares Circulares Innovative Initiatives Award (2024).

•  Researcher in national and international projects.

•  Extensive experience in computational studies of carbon nanomaterials, polymers, metals, sustainable polymers, and microplastic removal systems. 

João Caseiro - Dimera

João Caseiro

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

•  PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Aveiro (2014), in the field of Computational Mechanics.

•  Experience in numerical simulation, data science, and machine learning, with participation in several R&D&I projects in collaboration with research institutions and industry.

•  Author of more than 10 peer-reviewed research articles.

•  Awarded 2nd Place in the PhD & Doctorates category at the H2O Sustainability Summit (2023), finalist of the Novo Verde Packaging Enterprise Award (2023), and winner of the Mares Circulares Innovative Initiatives Award (2024).

•  Extensive experience in managing projects funded by national programs.
